Pat Linden, Counsel @ Faegre Baker Daniels, Moderator- Pat Linden’s practice is focused on corporate, securities and transactional law for clients ranging from startups and emerging growth clients to Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience with public and private mergers and acquisitions and routinely represents clients in their equity and debt financing activities. Pat also represents private equity and venture capital funds in their investment and M&A transactions.Pat is an executive committee member of the firm’s emerging companies and venture capital practice group, where he represents early stage technology, media, Internet, life sciences and medical device companies in their equity financing, corporate governance and contracting activities.Pat has further developed a niche sports and entertainment law practice. He represents sports and entertainment organizations on matters of governance and in their sponsorship, television and financing transactions. Pat frequently speaks to legal and business associations on M&A, venture capital and private equity financings.

Ryan Kirkpatrick, Partner @ the Colorado Impact Fund- The Colorado Impact fund is a private equity firm dedicated to supporting Colorado companies that have a positive impact on the community.  Since the fund launched in July 2014, he has led investments in Bhakti, Inc. and Schoolrunner, LLC and served as a director on both boards.  Prior to joining Colorado Impact Fund, Ryan was a principal at Ferrer Freeman & Company (FFC), a leading health care private equity firm focused on growth capital investing in the lower middle market. While at FFC, he served on several boards including Ernest Health, Inc., Amerita, Inc., and Biotix, Inc. Ryan began his career as a healthcare analyst at Melleos Capital Management, an asset management firm, where he covered the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Ryan has 12 years of experience investing in growth-oriented companies in both the private and public markets. A Colorado native, Ryan holds a B.A. in molecular biology from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Ryan is also active in the Blackstone Entrepreneurship Network as a health care advisor.Brian Wallace Managing Director of Access Venture Partners- At Access Venture Partners, Brian leads fundraising and LP relations and new media opportunities. Since 1992, Brian has worked extensively with early stage technology companies and in venture capital finance as an attorney, investor and venture capitalist. He has worked with the Access team since 1999, and joined Access Venture Partners in 2005.Prior to joining Access Venture Partners, Brian was a partner with the law firm Fairfield and Woods in Denver, Colorado, where he chaired the firm’s corporate department and specialized in working with early stage companies in corporate and securities law and venture capital financings. Prior to embarking on his path of eternal enlightenment as a lawyer, Brian worked in corporate finance and accounting with Electronic Data Systems in Dallas, Texas and Europe. Brian also had a brief stint in Washington, D.C., working on the Patent, Copyright and Trademark subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee for U.S. Senator Dennis DeConcinni from Arizona.Brian received his law degree, magna cum laude, in 1992 from the University of Arizona and a B.S. degree in Business Finance, magna cum laude, in 1988 from the University of Arizona.
Brian is an avid golfer, fly-fisher and skier and excels against really bad squash players. In addition to constantly working on his deteriorating skills in these sports, he enjoys spending time with his family and coaching games he doesn’t understand, like soccer.

Bruce Dines VP of Liberty Global Ventures- Bruce Dines developed and built the Technology Investment practice for Liberty Global Ventures, the Corporate Venture Arm of Fortune 500 Company, Liberty Global, Inc.  In that role, he works closely with the CTO and Technology team, and has responsibility for developing the LGI Technology Investment Portfolio.Bruce brings over 25 years of technology and telecommunications experience to Liberty Global.  Over half of those years have been spent in earlier stage environments, where Bruce has founded companies and led businesses from concept and model development, through the capital formation, revenue generation and team building phases, ultimately realizing successful exits on 3 different companies.  The other half of his career has been spent in mid-size and large corporations, where he has either served as President or Division President, including comCables as President, Northstar Exchange as COO (sold to Construction Software Technologies in 2007), EHPT as President (sold to Ericsson in 2002), and Ericsson Mobile Communications as Division President.Bruce also leads the Office of Innovation within Liberty Global, which drives innovative thinking by applying innovation development principles to Liberty Global’s core operating companies.Over the past 4 years at Liberty, he has sourced and led investments in 11 technology companies, realized three substantial exits, and developed and launched Liberty Global’s Office of Innovation.  He currently serves as a Director in 2 companies, and is a board observer in 4 additional companies.

Chris Marks, Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Note Venture- Chris has been investing in early stage technology companies and working with entrepreneurs for over 15 years. Prior to launching BNV, Chris was a partner at Tango, a private investment company located in Boulder, Colorado. He also continues to serve as a Principal of High Country Venture, the general partner of Colorado Funds I & II, venture capital funds investing in early stage companies located in Colorado. Prior to Tango, Chris was a lawyer in the Denver office of Hogan & Hartson, where he practiced corporate law and represented various private equity firms and early stage companies raising capital.

Chris is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association, a group dedicated to supporting venture activities and entrepreneurs in the 8-state Rocky Mountain Region. Learn more about the RMVCA.

When Chris is not working, he enjoys the fact that he lives in Colorado.  He is a full time father, an avid fly fisherman, and an aspiring garage band guitarist.  He and his family are lucky enough to live in Niwot, Colorado, where they enjoy spectacular views of the Flatiron Mountains and Long’s Peak on a daily basis.
